Weapon Retention Device
|
The ShotStrap is the first weapon retention device for the shotgun, making it easier to carry and providing for quicker pull up. It greatly aids in handling and firing the weapon in all conditions.
The ShotStrap helps manage recoil more efficiently; makes the weapon harder to drop or have it taken by an adversary; and it helps keep the trigger finger indexed consistently to the trigger face.
The ShotStrap was originally designed for the Benelli Super-90M1 Defense shotgun, but is applicable to many types of shotguns and some semi-automatic rifles. It attaches without tools using Velcro straps.
To use the ShotStrap, your shotgun must have a safety button near the triggerguard. Black Materials also suggests wrapping the grip area with rubber or cork tape. This holds the retention straps in place and aids in wet handling.
The ShotStrap cannot be used with any shotguns having a Top-Tang-Mounted Safety Lever or having a safety latch that would interfere with the front retention strap. The main example being the Mossberg line of weapons.
